I have written before about the Armoury, on the edge of Sydney Olympic park it has to be one of the most amazing parks I have ever seen. Naturally as you might expect it is extremely popular. If you arent there before ten on a weekend you will be stuck in a endless circular gridlock searching for a parking spot, kids pressed against the window, paradise only a few metres away but nowhere to stop.
The easy solution is to chuck the bikes on the car and park at the park underneath Silverwater bridge. You can do this from several locations coming from the eastern side, the easiest being Homebush ferry wharf, but the distance is slightly greater. From Homebush ferry wharf it is 1500-1700 metres to ride, whereas from Silverwater bridge it is only 500 metres. A walkable distance (but why would want to do that!).
There is a public toilet on both the Western side and the Eastern side of the Bridge. The one on the Western side has been locked the last few times I went past.
From both directions the path is flat (until you reach the final hill to the park) and scenic. Easy riding for beginners and trainer wheels.
